The MPM group believes the sheep industry is in for some exciting times, especially for networks like MPM who have embraced change and are planning for the future. We strongly believe that the sheep industry will change more in the next 10 years than it has in the last 150 years. So therefore the next 10 years are going to realise many opportunities and MPM is ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

Breeders will become more specialised The number of seed stock producers will dramatically decrease Commercial breeders will embrace SGA (Sheep Genetics Australia) and ASBV (Australian Sheep Breeding Values) The only way to put the mulesing debate to bed is to actually stop mulesing We must not let the cost of production exceed current levels We must differentiate our products and focus on quality and deliver consistency Opportunities for the committed breeder will be plentiful We must focus on at least maintaining our current ewe base
